OUR STORY
Humble Beginnings:
More than 40 years ago, Alvin and Helen Copeland launched a small business called H&A Enterprises. Working from a one-bedroom high-rise apartment, they transformed electronic schematics into detailed artwork for printed circuit boards—designs that brought complex electronic systems to life.
As their business grew, operations expanded from that modest apartment to the basement of their home, and eventually to a modern office complex, where they hired staff to assist with production and design.
Growing in Knowledge and Purpose
During this period, Alvin began exploring how to improve and manage production operations. His growing curiosity led him to master areas such as Quality Control, Production Management, Procurement, Document Control, Design, and Human Resources. This journey inspired a deeper understanding of how Quality Management Systems could help organizations work smarter and more efficiently.
At the same time, Helen followed a parallel path—developing mentoring programs that nurtured the growth of young adults and children. Drawing on her degree in Public Relations, she found creative ways to promote these mentoring efforts and expand their impact within the community.
New Ventures, Shared Vision:
Their combined passion for excellence and people led to two new initiatives:
The Quality Side – focusing on building company wide Quality Management Systems rooted in continuous improvement.
The Mentoring Side – focusing on personal and professional development through mentorship and guidance.
Helen’s writing and communication skills later inspired yet another expression of their vision—The Write Side, capturing their values and experiences in words to educate and encourage others.
Today: Copeland Communications Group
Today, all of these ventures unite under one name — Copeland Communications Group (CCGroup).
This name honors the many dimensions of Alvin and Helen’s lifelong mission to serve, teach, and lead with purpose across multiple disciplines.
